SPIRITUAL LIVING ENTAILS:

  • Spiritual Productivity

Spiritual Worship

Spiritual worship connects you to God. In John 4:23-24 it says that “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” Worshipping in spirit is the only type of worship that God desires from us.

Seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is essential for spiritual growth, understanding the Word of God, serving in Ministry and ultimately living spiritually.

John 14:26 says, “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” So we see that it is the Holy Spirit who will teach you how to live like Jesus did.

We also see that the Holy Spirit helps us to discern what is truth and what is false (1 John 5:6 “And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth”).

Be Spiritually minded

Romans 8:6-7 “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”

Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

God is serious about this matter. Matthew 5:27-30 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”

Do not debate carnality or look for exceptions. Do not flirt with ungodliness- flee it!

Keep your mind set on God and do not be distracted by the world.

Mark 4:18-19 “And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.”

Live by Spiritual Principles

They are practical ways to ensure your life is spiritually aligned.

By extension- associate yourself with spiritually minded people. Proverbs 13:20 “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

Seek God whole-heartedly

Jeremiah 29:13 “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” James 4:8 “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Spend time with God

Pray and fast, read the Word.

Luke 10:38-42 “As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Repent from your sins, and forgive others

Acts 3:19 “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” Matthew 5:23-24 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

Obey God

John 14:21 “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

Fellowship with other believers

Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

Persevere in your spiritual walk

Matthew 10:22 “All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Hebrews 10:36-39 “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, “He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.”

“You do not need to work to become Spiritual. You are spiritual; you need only to remember that fact. Spirit is within you. God is within you.”
